Les Chercheurs d’Or relaunch Caballero

After six months of confinement, indie-folk-bluegrass band Les Chercheurs d’Or found themselves onstage at Le Studio of the Grand Théâtre for two exclusive concerts on Sept. 17 and 18 to relaunch their latest album, Caballero, which was initially launched during a blizzard in February.

CQSB reports only one case of COVID-19 in its schools

The Central Québec School Board (CQSB) has so far been spared the significant numbers of COVID-19 infections that have popped up in many educational institutions across the province with the return to school.
Of the board’s 18 schools in Quebec City and other regions, only one case has been recorded – at the Eastern Québec Learning Centre (EQLC) – on Sept. 13.
Former zoo land to be used for new French-language public schools

A public primary school and a public secondary school will be built on land that was once occupied by the Quebec Zoo, Minister of Education Jean-François Roberge confirmed last week.
Roberge made the announcement on Sept. 17 in the company of Jonatan Julien, Charlesbourg MNA and minister of energy and natural resources, and Chauveau MNA Sylvain Lévesque.

This street is named in honour of Jacqueline Auriol (1917-2000), a French aviator who set several world speed records. Born in Challans, France, the daughter of a wealthy shipbuilder, she graduated from the Université de Nantes, then studied at the École du Louvre in Paris.

Earlier this month, the Central Québec School Board (QCSB) took a step closer to its goal of building a new English-language elementary school in Lévis when its offer to purchase land belonging to a South Shore Pentecostal church was accepted.
